Monthly reports

Your numbers, read for you. Every month.

You already have the data. It's sitting in your booking system and your accounting software, and nobody has time to read it. Send me the exports. You get back a short report that says what happened, what matters, and the three things to do next.

How it works

No new software. No dashboards to learn.

  1. Set-up, once

We agree what you want to know, map your reports, and build your baseline from the last 12 months.

  2. You send exports

From Kitomba, Timely, Fresha, Shortcuts, Xero, MYOB, Shopify, or anything else that can export a report.

  3. I read them properly

Against your own history and against targets we set together. Not a generic template.

  4. You get three actions

Ranked, in dollars, in plain English. Read it in ten minutes and get on with your day.

For salons with a team

The salon set

Seven reports. The right ones arrive at the right time of the month, quarter and year.

Weekly pulse

Every Monday

Last week on one page: takings, client count, average spend, rebooking, retail, and who led the floor. Enough to steer by, short enough to actually read.

Monthly scorecard

Monthly

Every stylist's sales against their full wage cost, with holiday pay, KiwiSaver and ACC counted. Who's paying their way, who needs a hand, and where the wage bill is drifting.

The weeks ahead

Monthly

What's booked for the next four weeks against what you need, column by column. Plus the clients who are overdue and worth a personal message.

Stylist one-pagers

Monthly

One page per person, written to be handed over. Their numbers, their best lever, one target. Coaching with facts instead of feelings.

Pricing check

Quarterly

Your menu against what each service really costs to deliver now. Which prices have slipped under their floor since the last wage or rent change.

Retail and stock

Quarterly

What's selling, what's been gathering dust for 90 days, how much cash is sitting on the shelf, and what to reorder.

P&L in plain English

Monthly

Your accountant's profit and loss, translated. What moved, why, and whether rent, wages and product are where they should be for a salon your size.

What you really earned

Monthly

Your true hourly rate and weekly take-home this month, after costs, tax and ACC, against the goal you set.

Your week, booked versus free

Monthly

Where the gaps in your column are, by day and time, and what filling them is worth.

Pricing check

Twice a year

Each service against what it costs you now, with the specific prices to move and when to do it.

Client spread

Quarterly

How much of your income rests on your top ten clients, and what happens if two of them move to Wānaka.

GST and tax pack

Each GST period

Income, expenses and GST summarised for your return, anything odd flagged, and what to have put aside for provisional tax. Ready to hand to your accountant.

Year in review

Yearly

Twelve months side by side. Are you growing or just getting busier? And the plan for next year's prices.

Your data

Your business information stays confidential.

Monthly reports mean sending real figures from your booking and accounting systems. Your exports are only used to prepare your reports.

What you'll want to know before you send anything

  • How files are sent to me
  • Where they're stored, and who can see them
  • How long they're kept, and how they're deleted
  • Whether client names need to be in them at all
  • Confidentiality terms

Fair warning

Who this isn't for

  • You want software to log into. This is a person reading your numbers, not a dashboard.
  • You're after bookkeeping or tax returns. Keep your accountant. This sits alongside them.
  • You won't act on it. Three actions a month only work if at least one gets done.

Questions

About the reports

Do I have to install anything or give you a login?

No. You export reports from the systems you already use and send them over. Nothing is installed and nothing connects to your systems.

Is there a contract?

No minimum term. It runs month to month and you can stop with 30 days' notice.

What's the set-up fee for?

Building your baseline: mapping your reports, loading the last twelve months, and agreeing the targets your business will be measured against. It's done once.

Does this replace my accountant or bookkeeper?

No. They keep the books and handle tax. This reads your numbers as an operator would and tells you what to do in the salon this month. The two work well together.

What happens to the information I send?

It's used to prepare your reports and for nothing else. We never share a client's numbers or name them.
